As a person centred trained counsellor with over 8 years of experience, I provide a safe space to explore your issues and guide you on your journey of self-discovery.
Through my work, I have adapted the use of different models of counselling depending on the client’s needs. By working together, we will explore your life, helping you gain clarity and discover ways to make sense of your emotions so that you can move forward in a positive way. As everyone is different, I take the time to understand your specific situation so I can tailor your therapy to your individual needs.
You can find out more about me and my journey as a counsellor in my About Me section.
I have never met a client who needs to be "fixed" yet I have met a lot who didn't have the space free of judgment to share their emotions, struggles, concerns or issues. Reaching out for help is the first step and I would offer you the next one: the safe space to be heard and take the next steps towards a better future.
I offer online counselling, Zoom, MS Teams or Video call for individuals and I am available in the evenings, from 5pm – 9pm.
Online sessions offer you the chance to have therapy in the comfort of your own home without the added stress of parking or transport.
I can help with issues such as: Grief, loss, depression, anxiety, relationships, trauma, confidence, ill health, work issues and HIV/AIDS. However, I am not limited to these issues so please get in touch for further information about the range of issues I can help with.
See my Areas I Help With section for more information on how I can help you with any of these issues.
We will have an initial consultation before our work together starts. I will take the time to listen to understand more about you and the issues you are facing. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have about counselling and how it can help you.
You will be able to share your experiences in a safe and judgement-free space so you feel confident sharing what is going on for you. This allows me to understand your unique situation and find the best way of working together.
I focus on building a relationship with you so that you feel comfortable and confident discussing your struggles with me. This relationship is the foundation on which the counselling is built.
I approach each client with compassion, kindness and empathy, allowing you the freedom to share whatever is important to you. You will not be pushed to share anything you don’t want to talk about – you will decide when the time is right. My role in this relationship is like a guide to your lead.
When in counselling there may be times when you don't want to talk about events or experiences that are difficult to share or recount. Understand that this is completely normal. The counselling journey has its ups and downs – it is all part of moving towards a brighter future and to you achieving your goals.
Sessions cost £50 and they last for 50 minutes. Initial consultation sessions cost £30 and they also last 50 minutes. Most sessions take place weekly, but if you would like to change the frequency of the sessions, this is possible after the first 6 weeks. A minimum of 24 hrs' notice is requested for cancellation in order not to be charged for the session.
If you are struggling with issues surrounding depression, anxiety, relationships, trauma, confidence, ill health, bereavement or HIV/AIDS or any other issues that is troubling you and you want to talk through, please get in touch.
I have worked extensively with grief and loss. This is not limited to the loss of a loved one, but this can also include the loss of your identity, losing your job, a relationship breakdown or even moving to a new place. Loss is sadly a part of life, but if that loss leaves you struggling for a prolonged period of time, it may be a sign than you need some professional help to move on. Through counselling, I can help you to better understand and cope with those emotions, enabling you to integrate the reality of your loss into your life going forward.
When you are suffering from depression it can often feel like it will never improve, and you feel overwhelmed by feelings of hopelessness and despair. However, through counselling, moving past these emotions is always possible. Together, we will explore the negative thought patterns that plague you and, over time, I will help you replace them with more positive and realistic thoughts.
Living with anxiety can be extremely challenging. It can leave you feeling constantly on edge, overwhelmed and it can lead to panic attacks. It can have a profound effect on your life, your career and your relationships. Together we can get to the root of your anxieties, exploring the unconscious feelings you have and any possible triggers. I can give you strategies to manage those feelings and find positive ways to move forward with your life.
Managing relationships and suffering from problems in your relationships are commonplace but they can leave you feeling anxious and lost. You may be struggling with communication, separation, evolving relationships or problems with family members. Whatever your struggles are, counselling can help you explore the cause of your relationship problem, which may be unconscious feelings you have had hidden for a long time. Together, we can help you understand the emotions that are preventing you from maintaining those relationships and find ways to move forward.
If you have suffered trauma in your life, as a child or as an adult, it can leave you feeling frustrated and struggling to cope with your job, your relationships and life in general. Counselling can help you explore those frightening and upsetting memories in a safe, judgement free space, to help you make sense of your conscious and unconscious emotions and giving you ways of processing them so you can cope and become a better version of yourself.
Suffering with low confidence and self esteem can have a crippling effect on you, making it difficult for you to succeed in your career and for you to form and maintain healthy relationships. It can leave you feeling quite desperate and frustrated, that you aren’t good enough and it prevents you from achieving your goals. Through person-centred counselling, we will engage with those thoughts, empowering you to recognise your worth as an individual and strive to be the person you want to be.
If you, a close family member or friend suffer from ill health, it can have a huge impact on your life and leave you feeling unable to cope and make sense of this huge change. Not only has life changed, but there is also the uncertainty about what the future hold which can make you feel frustrated and anxious. Through counselling, I can help you explore the unconscious emotions related to ill health that you may be feeling, coming up with ways to help you move forward.
Your job plays an important role in shaping your identity, so if you are struggling with anything to do with work, it can affect other areas of your life, such as your family, your relationships and your self-worth. This could include changing career, changing role, promotion issues or work relationship issues. Any kind of transition can make you feel frustrated, bewildered and unable to cope. Person-centred counselling will help you explore all of unconscious feelings you have regarding your job and together; you can speak honestly about how you are feeling and we can come up with a way to move forward that makes sense to you.
Have you or has someone close to you been diagnosed with HIV or AIDS? It’s completely natural to be confused about how life will change and to be anxious about what the future holds. It can impact your work, your relationships and your mental health. Through counselling, you can share your feelings about the diagnosis and we can also find ways for you to integrate HIV status into your everyday life, finding a positive way to move forward.
Please feel free to contact me at any time regarding any other issue that you may be having that is not listed above.
If you are struggling with anything in your life, you may be considering seeking professional help and one way to get it is through counselling.
So what is counselling, talking therapy is one way to explain it.
A more formal definition could be: Counselling is a process where individual talks and explores with the counsellor issues and other struggles they are facing in a safe and confidential space.
Counselling provides you with a safe, confidential and judgement free space to talk through your experiences, emotions, memories and behaviours with a trained professional. Your counsellor will help you explore your feelings and emotions so that you may better understand yourself. They will not offer opinions or advice, they will merely ask you questions to help you understand your feelings better and find your own solutions.
During a counselling session, your therapist may take you through specific events in your life to help you understand your issues and emotions. These explorations will be focused on certain aspects of your life, such as your relationships, your feelings, thoughts and emotions, your childhood, your past and present, your behaviour and situations that you find difficult.
Person-Centred Counselling is a humanistic approach that focuses on you and how you see yourself. This form of therapy is not led by the therapist, it is led by you in order for you to achieve your goal, ‘self actualisation’.
Through person-centred counselling, the therapist empowers you to gain a greater understanding of your real self and your ideal self. You will become more self-aware, releasing any feelings that you have of insecurity, guilt or defensiveness. You will learn to live in the present, while understanding-what it is about your past that has shaped who you are today. Ultimately, through person-centred counselling, you take control of the process and you work towards achieving your goals, with the help of your therapist.
I am a BACP registered person-centred counsellor, based in the South East of the UK.
I have been practising for over 8 years as a counsellor, working with individuals via Zoom, MS Teams, or video messaging.
I knew from a young age that I always wanted to work with people, but my own personal life experiences drew me to counselling.
After achieving my counselling diploma, I took further training on working with clients suffering from trauma. I also developed my practice further by completing training on clients who experience abuse.
I have vast experience working with clients who are struggling with bereavement. I have also worked extensively with HIV/AIDS, whether that is the person themselves who has the diagnosis or a family member who is living with the disease.
I also volunteer as a counsellor, working for a London based charity, working with people with HIV and AIDS.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about online counselling. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07949496185 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
